Many a young bride-to-be has enjoyed a raunchy male strip review right before her big day. But most of us expect the “Magic Mike” show genre to actually be in a club, not riding home from work on the subway, or the Tube, as it’s called in London.
But folks in big cities learn to tune a lot of things out, so when one exuberant young man decided to strip naked and start pole dancing on an actual subway pole that commuters typically grab to stay steady as the train lurches, it received, shall we say mixed reviews.
It all happened on the Victoria line out of Brixton, a colorful area south of London. After undressing and tidily folding all his clothes on his subway seat, the unidentified and bearded young man – who at least appeared to be in relatively fit shape – decided to entertain the other passengers with his personal strip escapades.
Gyrating and thrusting as he gavotted from one pole to the next, some passengers gave him wolf whistles, while others tried to pretend they were anywhere but where they actually were. Fortunately, it didn’t appear there were any children on that particular car, as it was close to midnight on a Sunday evening.
Of course, without a viral video and a few amusing tweets, nothing really happened these days, so passengers obliged by showing both video and tweets about the enthusiastically undressed gent.
One Tweeter, showing a typical sense of British dry humor, even posted:
“Typical commute back home on the Victoria line what has London come to omg.”
Apparently, the man disappeared after he left the train and hasn’t been identified as of yet. But police say they are reviewing the footage and ask anyone who was fortunate enough – or unfortunate, depending on your viewpoint – to be on board that evening, to call them, maybe.
