Chris Tucker finally confirmed Wednesday that he and Jackie Chan are already working on Rush Hour 4 nicknamed ‘Grumpy Old Rush Hour.’
‘Yes we’re working on it now, me and Jackie,’ the Atlanta-born 46-year-old told ESPN to podcast The Plug.
‘It’s definite. It’s happening. This is going to be the one. This is gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it.’
The SAG Award nominee is back as LAPD Detective James Carter and the Chinese 63-year-old returns as Detective Inspector Lee of the Hong Kong Police Force for the funny four-sequel penned by original screenwriter Ross LaManna.
‘Yesterday, we just agreed,’ the honorary Oscar winner (born Chan Kong-sang) told Power 106 LA’s The Cruz Show back on October 5.
‘The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft, and next year, probably [we will] start. I hope – if Chris Tucker agrees.’
Despite dismal reviews, Jackie and Chris’ 1998 crowd favorite – which spawned sequels in 2001 and 2007 – has amassed an impressive combined $849M at the worldwide box office.
However, CBS canceled the small-screen spin-off of the buddy cop classic – starring Justin Hires and Jon Foo – in 2016 after just one 13-episode season.
