Omar, the Maine coon is not your average cat. He is twice as big as the dog he lives with and is extremely heavy when he reclines on the chest of a human.
This cat weighs 30 plus pounds; the average cat weighs between 7-8 ½ lbs.
Omar’s photos went viral after being featured on the Cats of Instagram account, which has over 8 million followers.
Stephy, Omar’s owner was contacted by Guinness World Records, who suggested her cat could be the longest in the world. The current record is held by a UK Maine Coon measuring 46″ inches, but Stephy says she last measured Omar at about 48″ inches.
