Ever since it’s first English production in 1985, the musical Les Miserables has been a staple on the West End Stages of London. It is currently the longest-running musical in the West End and the second longest-running musical in the world. The timeless story of revolution, redemption, and love has touched hearts around the globe, and the famous song “Bring Him Home,” perfectly captures the musical’s emotion and beauty.
American singer Josh Groban was only four years old when the English version of Les Mis premiered, so the now-superstar grew up listening to Claude-Michel Shonberg’s gorgeous music from the show. Now one of the world’s best vocalists, Groban is sharing both his talent and the moving song “Bring Him Home” with the world in this gorgeous music video.
In the context of the show, the song is sung by the main character, Jean Valjean, as a prayer over the young man who loves and will later marry his daughter. It’s a beautiful song about love and sacrifice in the midst’s of a bloody revolution.
Groban’s “Bring Him Home” is featured on the 2015 album, Stages. Check out the video below to hear his emotional, moving rendition.
