Alvarez said he returned it because he wanted to ‘do the right thing.’

Dr. Hoskie was not content with only that, she then offered him a place at her real estate school free of charge.
Dr. Hoskie said she was once homeless and understands what Alvarez is going through. She said her only condition is that Mr. Alvarez helps another homeless individual when he is back on his feet.

“He has absolutely no idea what’s about to happen,” said Dr. Hoskie said.
“You don’t have to worry about being in the cold,” she added. “We have to house for you.”
Tearing up, he said, “Thank God!”
Alvarez, ever the grateful man was handed a certificate by Dr. Hoskie and broke down in tears as she paid tribute to his honesty.
“There are always angels out here in heaven and earth,” he said.
When he was asked why he chose to do the right thing and find the check’s owner, he said: “Honestly, I gave it from the bottom of my heart, and I expect nothing back in return.”
