Tesla CEO Elon Musk responded to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez‘s attack on billionaires with a simple request: “Stop hitting on me.”
“Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him to dinner and made him feel special,” AOC said in a Friday posting.
The tweet didn’t mention Musk by name, but he was quick to respond to it. Smiling emojis accompanied his message: “Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy,” On the platform, AOC claimed Republican critics wanted nothing more than to date her, and this appears to be a reference to that statement.
AOC responded to Musk with, “I was talking about Zuckerberg but ok,” before deleting the response a few minutes later.
This week, the world’s richest man, Tesla billionaire Elon Musk, struck a deal with Twitter‘s board to buy the company for $44 billion. With his promise to loosen the platform’s censorship and embrace more free expression, Musk has inflamed liberals.
