Americans believe that crime is getting worse in the country and that President Joe Biden has done little to help. A Rasmussen Reports poll released this week found that 61 percent of likely American voters believe that violent crime is on the rise, and 47 percent believe that Pres. Biden has done a poor job of handling law enforcement issues.
There was an overwhelming 81% of those polled, with 46% of those saying the issue will be very important in November’s midterm elections, according to the results of a new poll. Only 11% of people believe that crime is getting better, while 26% believe that it is staying the same or getting worse.
An overwhelming majority of Republicans and independents (64 percent) believe that violent crime is getting worse, as do 40 percent of Democrats, according to a new poll. 65 percent of Democrats think Biden handles crime and law enforcement issues excellently or well; only 14 percent of Republicans and 23 percent of unaffiliated voters think the same.
But 72% of Republicans, 54% of unaffiliated voters, and 17% of Democrats disapprove of Biden’s handling of crime. Eighty-eight percent of Republican voters, seventy-eight percent of Democratic voters, and seventy-six percent of unaffiliated voters believe that violent crime will be an issue in this year’s congressional elections.
According to the poll, voters who earn less than $30,000 a year are the most likely to believe that crime is getting worse. It was more male than female voters who gave Joe Biden poor marks for handling crime, and it was more male than female voters who expect crime to be a major issue in the midterm elections.
Violent crime is worsening in the eyes of older voters, while younger voters are less likely to give President Biden a low grade for his handling of crime and law enforcement issues.
Democrats believe that Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee disrespected Joe Biden’s Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson, during her confirmation hearings.
According to a recent poll, nearly two-thirds of Americans believe that the Hunter Biden laptop story is important and that the president was most likely involved in his son’s business dealings abroad. More than 1,000 people were polled in the two-day survey, which was conducted on April 2 and 3. A 3-percentage-point error bar is the standard deviation.
