Two people were killed and ten were injured in the Cedar Rapids shooting, Iowa, on Sunday morning, police said.
Officers from the Cedar Rapids Police Department were in the area when the shooting occurred at Taboo Nightclub and Lounge at 1:30 a.m., according to a statement.
Police said there was “no threat to public safety” surrounding the nightclub, a statement said. The identities of any potential suspects have not been made public, and police have confirmed that they are still looking into the matter.
Police have confirmed that the injured have been taken to local hospitals for treatment. According to nightclub owner Mod Williams, he doesn’t have any more information on the shooting or the suspect.
“It’s an extremely disturbing thing that happened and currently I’m just being as cooperative as I can to help the police,” Williams said. “Any witnesses or anyone with information about the shooting should get in touch with the police”, according to a press release from the department.
