Concerns about the Ukraine conflict and rising inflation have lowered President Joe Biden’s approval rating, according to a new NBC News poll released Sunday.
According to the poll, only 40% of the people surveyed approved of the job Biden had done in his first two years in office. There were only 16% of registered voters who strongly approved of Biden’s job, and 71% of those polled said that the country is “off on the wrong track.”
The poll shows that inflation is on the rise, as is the overall economy and employment, as well as the conflict in Ukraine and the integrity of the election. Pessimism about America’s place in the world is also on the rise, with 53% of respondents believing that the United States is beginning a long-term decline.
“What this poll says is that President Biden and Democrats are headed f0r a catastrophic election,” Republican pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinions Strategy told NBC News.
According to a new poll, 38 percent of respondents blamed Vice President Joe Biden for rising inflation, and 28 percent still believe that price increases are linked to the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, 62% of Americans believe that the worst of the pandemic is over.
“You cannot get down to the low 40s in presidential approval unless you have strained your own base,” McInturff told NBC.
When compared to Biden’s 40% approval rating, a whopping 42% of respondents thought the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, was doing a good job.
1,000 adults were interviewed between March 18 and 22; 790 of them were registered, voters. There was a 3.1 percent error margin among the survey’s respondents.
