One of the most horrible things that can happen on a plane is when an unruly passenger starts attacking flight attendants. One flight attendant from Southwest flight was the latest victim of an unruly passenger at Texas airport during the boarding process.
On Saturday afternoon, Arielle Jean Jackson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault for allegedly striking an airline flight attendant with her fist on the head. The suspect and Southwest employee had engaged in a verbal dispute that eventually turned physical, according to Dallas police.
The unidentified crew member was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition and was released last night. The airline has offered its best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.
Airline employees called the police after an argument with a passenger turned violent. The woman, identified as Jackson allegedly verbally assaulted and physically attacked them while boarding at Dallas Lovefield airport around 12:40 pm.
When Jackson got on a plane, she immediately went to the back and had an argument with one of the flight attendants. It is unclear what they were arguing about. As she was exiting the plane, Jackson engaged in a verbal dispute with another employee before hitting her head. Jackson was taken to Dallas County Jail for aggravated assault.
The incident was still under investigation. Southwest Airlines is reportedly cooperating with the police. “Southwest Airlines maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding any type of harassment or assault and fully supports our employee as we cooperate with local authorities regarding this unacceptable incident,” the airline said. “Our entire Southwest Family is wishing [the flight attendant] a speedy and full recovery as we send our thoughts, prayers, and love to her.”
In May this year, another Southwest flight attendant was punched by a woman in the face, knocking her teeth out. 28-year-old, Vyvianna Quinonez, grew angry when flight crew members informed her that she must put on her seatbelt during the flight.
The flight attendant was seen with a bloodied face and wheeled off the plane in a wheelchair as Quinonez was escorted off the flight by Port of San Diego Harbor Police. The flight attendant suffered injuries to her face and teeth and was taken to the hospital. Quinonez was arrested and charged with a felony.
